Set up which event to consider as a CONVERSION in a Meta Ads account

For Meta Ads accounts, it is very important that you tell Dashbo which events should be considered as Conversions.

Updated today

For this, you will go to create/edit the control line and in the ad accounts section, you will expand the Facebook ones you want to edit.

There you will find the list of events. There are more than 90! Select and save only the ones that are important.

🤓 It's a good practice to select a grouped event that follows the campaign goal (Awareness, Engagement, Purchase, etc.)

These are the most commonly used events 👇

  • Link Clicks

  • Custom Conversions defined by the advertiser

  • On-Facebook Messaging Conversations Started 7d

  • Post Comments

  • Post Shares

  • Post Reactions

  • 3-Second Video Views

  • Grouped Post Engagement

  • Grouped All offsite leads plus all On-Facebook leads

  • Grouped Purchases

  • Grouped On-Facebook leads coming from Messenger and Instant Forms

  • Grouped App Installs

  • Grouped Content Views

If you want to know how many conversions there were for each event, you can hover the mouse pointer over the Conversions column. The details will appear there.

¿What can i do if im ot sure what convetion event is the one im looking for?

If the number of conversions that appears does not match what you see in Meta Ads, one thing you can do is to apply all events as a convertion firts.

This way you yo can later check the amout detail for each one and understand which is de the convertion event that better follows your meta ads account convertions

Below is an example where the budget is poorly configured as it is considering all those events as CONVERSIONS:
